This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do and do not do with it. If anything here is unclear, call us on (732) 298-2616 and we will explain it in plain language.

1. Who we are

NJ Clean Energy Group (“we”, “us”) is an independent energy consulting group serving New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New England. We are not a solar installer. We advise on solar projects and, where appropriate, introduce clients to separately vetted installation partners.

2. What we collect

We only collect what we need to arrange and follow up on a consultation.

  • You give us directly: name, phone number, email address, property type, preferred appointment time, and anything else you choose to tell us about your property or energy usage.
  • Collected automatically: standard web data such as pages viewed, approximate location by IP, browser type, and referring site.
  • If you contact us: the contents of calls, texts and emails, which we keep as a record of the enquiry. Calls to our tracked business lines may be recorded for quality and accuracy.

3. Why we use it

  • To contact you about the consultation you requested
  • To assess whether solar makes sense for your property
  • To introduce you to a vetted installation partner, but only with your agreement and only when a project is going ahead
  • To send service messages such as appointment confirmations and reminders
  • To send marketing messages, where you have opted in and until you opt out
  • To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations

4. Mobile information and text messaging

No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Your phone number and your SMS consent are used solely by NJ Clean Energy Group to contact you about your enquiry and your consultation. They are never passed to installation partners, lead buyers, data brokers, or any other third party for their own marketing.

Consent to receive texts is optional and is never a condition of booking a consultation or of any purchase. You can withdraw it at any time by replying STOP to any message. Full details are in our SMS Terms.

The only parties who ever handle your number on our behalf are the technology providers that operate our phone and messaging systems, and they act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

5. When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:

  • Installation partners — only when you have asked us to arrange a quote or a project, and only the details needed to do it
  • Service providers — the companies that host our website, calendar, phone system and email, acting on our instructions
  • Legal requirements — where we are required by law, court order, or to protect our rights

Mobile numbers and SMS consent are excluded from partner sharing entirely, as set out in section 4.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal and accounting obligations, typically up to seven years. Records of SMS consent and opt-out are kept for as long as we operate the messaging programme, because we are required to be able to evidence them.

7. Your choices

  • Texts: reply STOP to any message to stop immediately
  • Email: use the unsubscribe link at the foot of any marketing email
  • Calls: tell us on any call and we will remove you
  • Access, correction or deletion: email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days

Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages about an appointment you have already booked.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Our services are for property owners and decision-makers. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it.

10. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work and to understand how it is used. Most browsers let you refuse cookies; some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

11. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be made clear on the website.
